The Villages of Lapeer revels in every successful discharge home. Our dedicated therapy team includes occupational, physical, and speech therapists. Resident's may also be admitted for post-surgical assistance, wound care, IV antibiotics, transition to feeding tubes, ostomies, and tracheostomies, as well as for a rapidly changing health status.
Respite care is intended to prevent caregiver fatigue and burn-out. It may also be utilized while the caregiver is out of town. Respite residents are admitted in the same manor as any other resident, with a unique focus on their medical, dietary and social needs, but they are generally discharged within 1 to 2 weeks. These residents can potentially be transitioned to long term care. Often, a respite stay can be arranged by your hospice provider.
The Villages of Lapeer is proud to be considered home to our long term care residents. Long term care is an option for those who need more care and supervision than what can generally be provided in the home. Our experienced team can assist with the process of applying for Medicaid and the transition from rehabilitation to long term care. Hospice services can also be arranged during the resident's stay.
